2011 A YEAR IN REVIEW – TRAVEL + LIFESTYLE + FOOD + PORTRAITS

It’s been a very interesting year full of change, challenge and inspiration. I left my day job, my car died, made some new best friends in the San Juan Islands (my home away from home), daydreamed about traveling the world a lot – especially South America, New Zealand and Italy, learned how to keep plants alive, watched a lot of Anthony Bourdain shows, rode my bike up Queen Anne countless times, laughed harder than ever, drove a sail boat, taught a lighting workshop at WWU, bought new skis, bribed my nephew with a lot of ice cream cones, photographed some very lovely weddings, became a workaholic (after all, photography is my hobby and my profession), acquired three or four or five new baby cousins – I can’t keep track anymore – there are dozens, managed my way around the state without wheels to call my own (please bring me a car 2012), and I ate a lot of fish and chips (which accounts for the newly purchase Brazil Booty DVD workout set). I have been blessed to work with some very talented designers (Andre Mora, Chris Skiles, Benjamen Purvis and Samantha Gardner), chefs, celebrities, and friends who have inspired or commissioned some of the photographs in this post. It’s all over the place, but how do you choose? There were so many great people, things and moments to capture. These are just a few of my favorites from weddings, to holiday to assignment. Thanks to all who keep making photography so rewarding and fun. Hoping for many years of weddings and assignment to come. Happy New Year!
